BSMA, as a leading internationally accredited public maritime higher education institution, was established in 1929. The academy specializes in training highly qualified professionals for the global merchant marine fleet and maritime transport infrastructure. It operates in strict compliance with national legislation and the International Maritime Organization (IMO) standards, specifically the STCW Convention. The academy holds structural memberships with the International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU) and the International Association of Safety and Survival Training (IASST). It actively participates in international mobility programs like Erasmus+, maintaining strong training and exchange partnerships with academic institutions and global shipping managers across Poland, Norway, and Germany.
